Our first stop has to be the unique, iconic and historical Burgh Island off the south coast in Devon. This is a  perfect example of a 1920s vintage retreat. Bulit in 1929 the history of this place is legendary with guests including famous politicians and celebrities of their day including and of course Agatha Christie, Noel Coward, Winston Churchill and so on. It was hugely popular and became the vintage retreat and destination for most of the 1920s and into the 1930s.

Today, Burgh Island is a Grade II listed building and one of the foremost examples of Art Deco style in Europe.  Agatha Christie made Burgh her second home, writing two books on the Island. Noel Coward stayed on Burgh Island, originally for three days, but this turned into three weeks.

Now of course it is yours to discover and emerse yourself in its deep history and play out your 1920s fantasy in the most ideal vintage retreat setting.

Rather than travel out to the USA which has many 1950s style hotels and motel vintage retreats to discover why not stay here in the UK and relive childhood memories of building sandcastles, rock pool fishing and munching your way through flavoured icecream.

I love that they have not only got all the interior sorted but it's packed full of retro games and memorabillia. Absolutely fabulous!

The clash of colours and patterns is just so spot on and the treasure trove of retro games and magazines really can make you feel you are reliving it all again. This vintage retreat looks like too much fun.
