This is a very popular period for inspiration when it comes to weddings as it is so evocative and has a sense of tradition and true love.

When it comes to the wedding dress itself, it surely has to be empire line, which has a low scoop neckline that is piched in under the bust and the skirt bottom flows out from there creating an ethereal and almost goddess like style.

Bridal jewellery to accompany this look needs to be delicate and dainty. You want to look for a mix of small clear crystals and pearls. The Bridal earrings shoud be a drop earring but not too long a popular design style would mimic a fine 18th century chandelier with it's delicatley balanced elements that reflect the light enough.

Even though the style of our bridal bracleet is Victorian, it's design roots are firmly from the Regency era with it's delicate touch and combination of pearls and crystals.

Perhaps you see yourself going more 'down' the aisle in a more Downton Abbey wedding style route (excuse the punn). This era was a marked change from what went before with the advent of more power to women and a more refined dress style. However the 1920s bride still wanted to feel extra special on her big day, so though the dress might be a lot simpler (the veil not so in terms of length and volume) the bridal jewelery and accessories would have relfected the more glitz and glamour of the time.

In the 1950s things became a little less formal and more fun, so in came the fuller skirts and off the shoulder necklines as depicted in this photo of Elizabeth Taylor. Satin was the fabric of the day as it added that volume and stiffness that was being seen in everyday 1950s dresses.
